Nadia Returns to Chapman University for Inauguration Event Series

Last week, Nadia visited Chapman University as part of the university’s Inauguration Event Series, opening the week with a public conversation with Dr. Jennifer Keene, Dean of Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. In a powerful discussion, Nadia shared her personal story of survival and her ongoing efforts to advance justice and recovery for survivors of sexual violence through her global advocacy and the work of Nadia’s Initiative. She reflected on the importance of truth-telling, documentation, and survivor-centered approaches to justice, while reminding the audience that local recovery efforts and global advocacy must go hand in hand.

Throughout the week, Nadia met with students, joined classroom discussions, and spent time connecting with the Chapman community – continuing a longstanding and warm relationship with the university. Her visit sparked meaningful dialogue about resilience, accountability, and the role of young leaders in building a more just and compassionate world. Nadia’s Initiative is grateful to Chapman University for hosting these important conversations and for fostering a space where the next generation can learn from survivors and help shape lasting change.
