Australian Officials Visit Sinjar

Earlier this week, Nadia’s Initiative was honored to welcome the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, H.E. Glenn Miles, and his delegation to Sinjar for visits to the NI Women’s Center and the Yazidi Genocide Memorial.

During the visit, the NI team expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people and government of Australia – home to one of the world’s largest Yazidi diaspora communities – for opening their doors to Yazidis seeking refuge and a new beginning.

NI also encouraged the Australian government to continue its resettlement efforts and its support for Sinjar’s long-term recovery.

Their visit is a powerful reminder that justice and recovery for the Yazidi people depend on global solidarity.
