Nadia honored with “2025 Abely Leading Women and Children to Safety Award”
Last week in New York, Nadia Murad received the “2025 Abely Leading Women and Children to Safety Award,” recognizing her tireless advocacy for survivors of gender-based violence.
For nearly three decades, the Abely Awards, established by Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, Sanctuary for Families, and Columbia Law School, have honored individuals whose compassion, energy, and dedication reflect the spirit and legacy of Maryellen Abely, for whom the award is named.
As Sanctuary for Families highlights on their website, “Through her advocacy, Murad continues to amplify the voices of survivors, ensuring that their experiences lead to meaningful action toward peace, security, and human dignity.”
