Nadia's Initiative Programs Overview for 2025

In 2025, Nadia’s Initiative advanced a survivor-led vision of sustainable recovery through integrated programs that supported women and girls, advanced justice for survivors, and helped rebuild the Yazidi homeland in Sinjar, Iraq.

Our work strengthened women’s leadership and opportunity through the Women’s Center in Sinjar, expanded sustainable livelihoods for survivors and returnees, and invested in education, healthcare, water access, and cultural preservation. Justice and accountability remained central, with continued efforts to protect and exhume mass graves, support families through the return of their loved ones’ remains, facilitate survivor-government dialogue on justice and reparations, and engage international partners. 

Together, these efforts reflect NI’s continued commitment to survivor-led recovery — supporting communities not only to rebuild, but to shape their futures with dignity and lasting justice.
