Nadia's Initiative Restores Electricity to South Sinjar

For Yazidi families living in Sinjar, Iraq, electricity has been inaccessible since ISIS intentionally destroyed the region's infrastructure in 2014.

Over the past few months, the rate of return of Yazidi IDPs to Sinjar has significantly increased. As a result, the need to restore basic infrastructure like electricity has become even more critical. Nadia’s Initiative is working with the Directorate of Electricity to restore electricity in South Sinjar. With electricity secured, the community can power other important infrastructure like hospitals and schools.
