Fostering Women's Increased Participation in Sinjar's Economic Recovery

“We lost all we had, whether property or money. We even lost our people after the genocide,” says Shamy Hassan Fares.

Years of displacement and conflict have far-reaching consequences for women, often increasing their economic vulnerability in post-conflict settings.

Nadia’s Initiative seeks to increase women's access to income-generating opportunities by providing a comprehensive framework for economic empowerment, including an array of specialized training, grants, digitization strategies, and savings groups.

We believe that women's increased participation in the region's economic recovery benefits not only them and their families, but also their communities.
