Nadia's Initiative Small Business Beneficiary Details Impact of Support
Years of conflict have left locals in the Bashiqa area under financial stress, including Eitimad. With the limited access to job opportunities, Eitimad struggled to provide food and medication to her ailing 70-year-old aunt. “I even forgot to think about myself. I am living to give life to my elderly aunt,” she says.
Living in such a desperate situation was taking a toll on Eitimad’s mental health. NI’s team heard of Eitimad’s story and reached out to her to include her in NI’s new project to support small business owners in Bashiqa. Eitimad is now receiving the necessary resources to start her own dressmaking shop. She is becoming financially independent and is able to afford medication for her aunt.
“Thanks to Nadia’s Initiative, I can now depend on myself. The thread in the needle not only sews clothes, but also fixes the needs for my poor aunt, who is running out of medication.”
