Nadia's Initiative is Rehabilitating Al Taamim 4th School for Girls in Khanasor
“One third of school-aged IDP children in camps and a quarter of IDP children living in out-of-camp locations have no access to formal education opportunities,” according to UNHCR. Yazidi students have experienced years of displacement without access to adequate education. Those able to return home to Sinjar often encounter schools that are rendered unusable due to ISIS’s destruction.
At Nadia’s Initiative, we believe educating every child matters, which is why we are thrilled to announce that the rehabilitation of Al Taamim 4th School for Girls is underway! Renovations include fixing the school’s interiors, restoring electricity to the building, and rehabilitating the school’s WASH facilities. Al Taamim School for Girls will provide a safe learning space for over 120 students.
This project is funded by UAE AID.
